Fairy Tale Paper Doll Printable

It's here! It's here! The new paper doll printable you've been waiting for.

I was thinking on sharing it in June, but I can't hardly wait. The rules are still the same, print, cut, customized, and enjoy. Do share your customization by email or Flickr and I shall post it here along with the original pdf printable. Use it for personal purpose only and you shouldn't take any dimes from someone else for this printable (be nice and tell him the way to get it free : ie. here).

OK, about the printable, you may notice the small print that said : "exclusively designed for Annika". So who's Annika? Annika is a picture perfect little girl whose mom came up to me on email one day, asking me if I could design a personalized paper doll printable for her daughter's princess/princes birthday party. This pretty much explain the fair skin, blond hair, and blue eyes, because that's what Annika and her brother Liam looks like. I have asked about her birthday party photographs, but maybe mom Heather is really busy so Heather, if you're reading this, please share with us the birthday pics, because we're just big suckers for kids birthday parties, that's all!

If you're thinking of getting your own personalized doll that match those little rascals of yours, please don't be shy to ask, just like Annika did. Send your email to babalisme at yahoo dot com.

Enjoy!

Latest Favorite Site

May is coming to and end, unbelievable, and I thought I am still shopping for 2010 calendars. So how was your May? Much yaaaay-ness in May? (bad pun alert).

Belated Spring Wishlist

Found this drawing on my journal, dated February 2010, quite shameful I have to admit that not even one thing on that list I have acquired yet. I'll prolong the list until summer, I think.

Embracing Summer

Hello, everyone. How was your weekend? Did you kiss your mother or are you getting ones? There's nothing crafty post today, I'm sorry, been busy with deadlines and Baby G (not a very good combination, I wouldn't suggest it to anyone). But still, I'd like to greet you with my first ever video post (but no, it's not mine, I found it on youtube, click it and it will take you directly to the uploader's site), since I never like putting anything moving in my blog because the connection I'm stuck with makes it looks like a broken old movies, this video is nothing but still picture with beautiful music. Enjoy and feel summer in your ears.

Craft Celebrities

Do you even have the slightest idea of what this post title means? *chuckles* I'm talking about the most portrayed things/animals/shapes in craft world, in sewing, felting, embroidery, paper craft, and a whole lot more. During my oh-so-unprofessional research I have come up into this list, do correct me if you think I'm wrong and/or you have additions to the list.
  1. Owls
  2. Flowers (daisies as numero uno, roses come close..)
  3. Cupcakes
  4. Matryoshkas
  5. Birds
  6. Skulls
  7. Mushrooms
  8. Other forest friends (a tie between fawns, bears, hedgehogs, foxes and rabbits)
  9. Red riding hood
  10. Robots
  11. Monsters (oh, the cute one, if you were wondering)
  12. ..(please add to the list)

By the way, this A-listers here are made about a week ago. Since I really have a big trouble on cutting felt with a pattern (anyone has tips?) I made this entirely with the scissors taking charge. I'd love to share the pattern with you guys, but I really don't have one. Should I make one? I haven't put anything on their backs too, should it be clippies or pins?

ps. See that lovely little hut on Baby G's frame? It's from here.

I . Heart . Liam

I am super picky about toilets. I must have mentioned about this at least once in my blog because it's so me. The only one thing I ask before going to some place is "Do they have a decent toilet?" if the answer is no, I won't be there for longer than 4 hours (that's the longest I can hold, without any incident) My husband jokes that I would die in the desert not because of thirst or hunger but because I couldn't hold it any longer and I wouldn't do number one or number two in hot sands without any covers and no ceramic man made hole. And since modern toilet comes with the bathtub/shower that goes for them too. I can't take a bath in the river. No. Never. Mountain climbing for days? As much as I love nature,.... No.

..that was before I read about Liam. I was so humiliated, disgraced, and torn apart inside when I read about him. You can read about the heartbreaking story here, but I can give a brief introduction about Liam.

Liam, recently 6, is diagnosed with a neuromuscular disorder called Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 2. He is able to play, move out and about thanks to his special chair called the Snap Dragon, which he has been using for 4 years, and been a happy and outgoing child ever since. Using the bathroom, as we may have figured, not very easy for Liam to do all by himself. Liam's mother, Lynn, has been assisting him. To my personal shame and guilt, Lynn has decided to remodel their bathroom to be as accessible as possible for Liam to do everything on his own. You can read about more detail here.

I felt like a snobby Queen with the most irrational pet peeve. My heart breaks for Liam and his family, though in the blog we always see them smiling and happy, things are not sugar coated in real life and they are real person after all (here).

If you are moved, touched, or like me, changed after reading about Liam, please head here for your support. You can either donate things for the giveaway or buy a ticket for Liam's bathroom remodeling. If you want to buy a ticket you will need a Paypal account along, but if you kindly ask Lynn, maybe you can manage to buy a ticket without Paypal. But the most important thing, is to spread the news around, so hopefully Liam's get a new bathroom this summer and I will get over my silly pet peeve immediately. Thank you Liam for the inspiration and be strong Lynn and Ben.

Thank you all babalisme readers.
xo.

Dear Mother

Mama, mommy, mom, momma, madre, mere, okasan, ibu, bunda, ..no matter how you call her, mother is always dearest to us. To celebrate Mother's day, a new printable for you to print, cut, fold, and write a poem on, sorry, the poem has to be personal so it's not included. I know that Mother's day is celebrated on different dates around the world but you can keep this one until your Mother's day comes around, or your mom's birthday arrives.

My printable design usually fits for children (and those who young at hearts) but this time I decided to portray a demure version of Mother's day because grown ups have mothers too (yes, it's grandma to you, kiddos). But don't stop the kids sending this to their mothers, it's not rated PG13. Click here to download. If you prefer the cuter version click here.
